A much happier snow day with little protest at the toboggan...... G & J managed to leave her with us whilst they snow-shoed Trail, Ali's and Swamp and Hill, before returning via the Back trail and Trail to the house.
Then we took J to her flight - she has to work today.
Poor soul; what should have been a simple journey to Toronto was firstly late taking off, then it straggled down to Montreal (diverted!) at 6,000 feet because there was a warning light showing which suggested that the hold door was not properly closed....
Then Porter cancelled the mid-evening flight to Toronto and turned J's flight into the last flight of the evening. But Billy Bishop (Toronto's down-town airport) has a late evening restriction; and the main Toronto airport said it had no free slots, so they diverted to Hamilton - right at the end of the lake and nearly at Niagara. A one hour bus ride back to BB and finally competing with all those passengers saw her home at something after 1.00 am.
Hmm
Well, just in case, here are some pics of Lila to cheer us all up!
G and I had Smoked Meat sandwiches and fries - a real Montreal treat - and L ate the same! She loved it!
That girl is a real Canadienne....
The route to the airport from there goes up through La Macazar, running parallel to the River most of the way. There is a covered bridge half way up - like one of the "Bridges of Madison County".
G and L's flight left on time and we heard from them via Skype soon after we got back to the cottage. Brilliant trip; thanks all for coming.
BBC on the computer for the evening. Not a big fan of curling.
