Awaaaaaaay

Monday, 1st October.

An even earlier start.

Foam rod to pack in to the gaps between the house and the porch siding; things to return to the barn.  The roof rack to remove, the cut edge of the door to seal.....  and the discovery that the waste bin folks are not coming today - October the first sees a new rota!   Bless them, I trundle the bin down to Yves and Janine and they transferred everything to theirs.

And so it went, all the familiar chores in lovely weather.

Time to go.

There is one, glorious view of the Tremblant range as you leave the village, and there it was, good Fall colours glowing in the sun.  And then on in the gathering dusk to Karen for supper and bed.  Never more welcome.

Tuesday, 2nd October

Karen was away early, but she'd left us a lovely breakfast.  It's a grey day; a damp drive down, a lovely lunch in a Greek restaurant in Rosemount and then we met up with Wanda, who drove us to the airport.

On the way to security, Ali ducked under a barrier rope - as was perfectly reasonable you might think - to be called back by the security agent and her hand baggage searched, including switching on her laptop!  Smacked wrist indeed...

So here we sit, where we have sat perhaps 20 times before.

A great trip, as always.  Looking forward to seeing the kids in the UK, and my parents.
