Phew!

Sunday, 3rd September

A lovely morning - up very early and off to St Sauveur and Morin Heights to lead Morning Prayer.  Lovely to see everyone - a year; I can't believe it!  I had a visiting priest in the back of church - didn't introduce herself.  Odd.  She was practising responses afterwards with the organist....

On to Morin Heights for a fairly full church; things flowed better (not that they had stuttered in St Sauveur), the jokes had been practised, the illustrations honed a little more.  Despite me, it was a beautiful time of worship.

And there were three retired priests in church, one of whom came up afterwards and was very gracious.  There were undoubtedly some insights there - picked up from somewhere - that he found really helpful.  This was my favourite....

And a lot of us feel smug and satisfied there, taking delight in the fire that is to come for our persecutors.
But Paul continues “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

We forget that God is not OUR God, he is everyone’s God.  God as much wants your enemy to come to love him as he wants you to love him.  It helps a little to remember that God is calling you to help him in bringing back another of his own.  Your forgiveness is evangelical.  “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”  "

 



In to St Sauveur for some paddling bits and pieces; on the way out, a call from Karen - they were stopping for lunch in St Agathe -on the way home for us.  So we met up - as you do.

Someone's been busy with this wall!


And then home to sleep for an hour!

And an evening of packing individual lunches and breakfasts ready for the trip.




Monday, 4th September - Labour Day.

Awake very early for some reason and then a "ping" from the phone as Bryony sent pictures of the boys' return to school.  Ah!  Melts your heart - even at 06.15!  But rain, rain nearly all day.  A little window around lunchtime when we went to collect the Canoe; but otherwise driven indoors to pack.

I think we'll be OK to be away before 09.30 tomorrow.....

The hydrangea outside the downstairs bathroom is looking lovely.

We shall be  away - all being well - for up to two weeks.  Not sure how much if any blog will happen in that time.
