We are SO blessed.

Back at the cottage;  yesterday, Tuesday the 9th of February, we were able to look after James whilst Julie did some errands in town.  And then, when Guy and Lila arrived home from work, we all went out to The Bristol for Cornish cider, pretty brisk curries (or fish and chips, or vegeburger..) and lots of smiles.  Then it was back to their home for bye-bye cuddles all round and 'see you soons'.

Today we set off at a good time, which was just as well, because about 5 minutes away from the accommodation, the car just stopped.  Dead.  Dashboard lights were on, I checked the battery terminals - seemingly O.K.  but just nothing when you turned the key.  A call to CAA - via the States it seems - and half an hour later a delightful agent arrived and towed us - to Guy's local garage!  It seems he's well known and liked...

Anyway, fifteen minutes later, the battery terminals duly scrubbed within an inch of their lives, all was well and has remained so all the way home, via a quick and very welcome cuppa and grub at Pam and Noel's in Aylmer.

The house is fine; the drive is fairly deep in the finest powder snow.  Something to drink and a scrumptious muffin.  Home again.
